Contemporary Label Marie Oliver Debuts Swim

Marie Oliver, a Greensboro, N.C.-based contemporary sportswear label, expanded with the launch of its first collection of swimwear and cabana-style cover-ups Monday.

“The inception of Swim & Cabana is simple: I planned a vacation to the Italian Riviera and felt like Marie Oliver swim was missing from my suitcase. And since our brand ethos has always centered around a flattering fit and expressive, colorful prints, expanding into swimwear felt like a natural next step. Our design team spent an exhaustive amount of time on fit, silhouettes and, of course, print. The time put into playing with the pattern palettes as well as the scale of the artwork across styles has resulted in a collection that is timeless, flattering and evocative of the fun of Marie Oliver,” founder and creative director Sarah Doggett Evenson told WWD.

The collection expands the brand’s signature caftan and maxidress offerings into a selection of mix-and-match cover-ups and swimwear that play into the brand’s well-known prints and optimistic colorways with a tropical lens. Swimwear silhouettes include three maillots, two bikini bottoms and two bikini tops in a nylon and spandex fabric with light compression and built-in UPF 50 protection. Matching cover-ups include slightly sheer cotton caftans, sarongs, easy dresses with tassel details, and tie-waist palazzo pants.

The swim and cabana styles launched on the brand’s e-commerce, with prices ranging from $85 to $298. In addition, the capsule will be available to purchase at select U.S. specialty stores, including Tooties in Texas and Poppy’s in Atlanta, and through the brand’s luxury resort partners such as The Greenbrier, The Ritz-Carlton and The Cloisters at Sea Island.
