Even if today weren’t Florence Pugh’s birthday, the 26-year-old star would have plenty of reasons to celebrate. After ending 2021 with a viral guest appearance on Marvel’s Hawkeye series, Pugh has been offering her social media followers a glimpse at her off-duty fun and a burgeoning collection of chunky shoes that would make the Spice Girls proud. In the last 24 hours, Pugh has shared two epic pairs of sky-high heels and ’90s inspired looks to match.

Pugh went for a pair of Harris Reed’s H-Boots from the designer’s collaboration with British footwear label Roker for her New Year’s festivities. A Christmas present to herself, the towering black calf hair boots feature 8-inch heels and a 4-inch platform. Reed referenced the footwear of ’70s glam rockers like David Bowie and Marc Bolan when designing, but Pugh found inspiration in another decade. Channeling the ’90s grunge style of Courtney Love, she paired her heels with Rat and Boa’s ‘Josefina’ babydoll dress and a J’Adore Dior choker.

The combination of cutesy floral print, statement necklace, and bold platforms made for a great selfie, but Pugh loved the effect so much she elevated her boots to heirloom status. “I would like to thank Harris for designing the best fucking party shoe,” she wrote on Instagram. “I shall pass them down to my children one day. Heels for queens.”

Pugh could have stopped there, but she decided to keep the momentum going. To mark hitting 26 on January 3, she went full Baby Spice in Miu Miu’s white platform low tops, a plaid skirt, and oversized periwinkle blue sweater. Sharing the image on Instagram along with an uplifting message about personal growth, Pugh succinctly summed up the logic behind her most recent outfits. “Another lap around the sun, another day to wear fantastic chunky shoes,” she wrote. Words to keep in mind while accessorizing.
