Beauty Vet Nancy Behrman Taps Gianna Cesa as Partner

Beauty PR firm Behrman Communications has brought on executive vice president Gianna Cesa as partner, and will be known as Behrman-Cesa Communications.

Founded in 1985 by Nancy Behrman with one client — Kiehl’s — the firm has offices in New York and Los Angeles and has worked with companies including It Cosmetics, Illume and Irene Forte Skincare.

“We plan on growing the business. We’ve specialized in beauty and wellness, and we plan to take a much more global approach with that,” said Behrman, who will continue to head up the firm alongside Cesa.

“This is a legacy business that Nancy built a true foundation for,” said Cesa, who first joined the company in 2010 as an account executive. “We know the core of what works for us will always be a part of our strategy, and the vision for the future is how do we continue to adapt to what the market needs — what’s next?”

Behrman-Cesa Communications has roughly 40 clients in the beauty, wellness and lifestyle realms and a workforce of just under 30. Near-term priorities include continuing to help clients forge relationships with retailers and private equity firms, as well as “expanding the portfolio — we love a white space; we love being able to create and build,” said Behrman.

“What our agency is best known for is taking small, conceptual ideas, getting behind the brand and having faith in the founders, and taking them through sale,” said Behrman, who worked with both Kiehl’s and Coola until their respective sales to L’Oréal and SC Johnson.
